Dr. Cyr treats a lot of individuals from the Rutland community who are hurt while working. According to the National Safety Council, the most common kind of work injury is musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which involves injuries to the muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments and joints. MSDs account for more than one third of all workplace accidents.
The most ordinary type of MSD is a strain, which is trauma to a muscle or tendon. Strains are caused by lifting, pushing or pulling too much weight, or by repetitive movements. Other common MSDs include carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis and back pain.
These injuries can be stopped by using correct lifting techniques, taking many breaks and using ergonomic devices. Employers can also help put a stop to injuries by providing their employees educational data on how to avoid getting hurt at work.
Back discomfort and injuries are a frequent issue that Dr. Cyr sees in our #Ciyt# office and we also work with individuals who have shoulder or neck issues.
If you have suffered a work injury or accident and live in the Rutland area, give Dr. Cyr a call and schedule an appointment today. We will work with you to create a treatment plan that will help you heal and do our best to get you back on the job as soon as we can!
